  • Required for new athletes (returning families welcome) – Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 pm OR Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 at 5:00pm.

  • You will get an overview of Idaho Cheer and everything involved. You will also have an opportunity to meet the coaches, ask questions, and get a jumpstart on paperwork.


Tryout Date and Times (based on age- no exceptions):

  • Tuesday, May 26th: Ages 3-8 yrs

  • Wednesday, May 27th: Ages 9-12 yrs

  • Thursday, May 28th: Ages 13-18 yrs

    • Athletes need to be at the gym at 5:00 PM to learn tryout material and warmup up skills

    • Assessments will begin at 6:30-7:00 pm and athletes will be free to go when they are finished. A schedule of specific tryout time slot for each athlete will be posted at the gym at arrival. Athletes will tryout in reverse order of tryout registration.


  • If you cannot make it on the prescribed tryout day, please contact to arrange a private or video tryout.  Tryout fees still apply.

  • Tryout fees are non-refundable. Any athletes who quit any time after team placement or fail to appear for tryouts forfeit all fees, and will not receive any team apparel.

  • A parent MUST be present at the beginning of the tryout to fill out paperwork. After paperwork is filed, parents may leave. 

  • The “assessment” aspect of tryouts will be closed to spectators. This will occur beginning at 6:30-7:00pm of the tryout.  Athletes will be assessed in order of tryout registration.

  • Tryouts will be based on skills assessment. We will evaluate athletes throughout the learning process and make initial placements based on what we see at tryouts and what we know of athletes’ prior cheer performance. (If you have questions regarding the placement of your child, they can be directed to team coaches). Initial tryout placement is not final. Athletes may be moved to other teams throughout the year at the discretion of the coaches.

  • Post season leveled open gyms will be offered and we will continue to offer skill development. Team athletes may attend as many of these as they would like (cost included in their May tuition). New students may drop into those classes at anytime for a fee. 

  • The gym will be closed Mon-Tues, June 1-2 for Staff Training.

  • Team meet & greets, parent meetings & practice wear sizing will occur Wed-Thurs June 3-4. Summer tumbling and team practices will begin June 8.


  • Results of the tryouts and practice times will be sent out via email provided and posted on to social media and the website ( by Sunday, May 31. We will post first and last initials along with their tryout number.



  • WED-THURS, June 3-4, 2020: A mandatory Team Meet & Greet, Parent Meeting (at least one parent needs to be present) and Sizing will be scheduled for each team over these two dates.  Athletes will be fitted for uniforms and practice attire at this time. Day/time will be announced with tryout results.

  • Mandatory Skills Camp and Choreography for All Star Elite athletes. Attendance is required, and exact schedule will be sent out about a month prior.

The tryout fee is non-refundable.  When you register early, the early bird rate is $200 total, and 100% of that fee goes toward your competition fees for the season. Competition fees pay for cheer gear, camp, choreography, competition entry, coaches fees, music and USASF membership. If you register after March 15th, the rate will increase, and only $200 goes towards your competition fees for the season. Late tryouts require additional costs to cover any missed competition fee and/or uniform payments.
